Cookie Policy
The cookies we use and how to control them
Last updated: October 17, 2026
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies our website uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.
Ceres Canopus Private Limited (brand name Ceres Canopus Pvt Ltd; “Ceres Canopus,” “we,” “us” or “our”) runs cerescanopus.com. Please read this policy together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They help a site remember your choices, keep it secure and measure how it is used. Similar technologies, such as local storage in your browser, do the same job. In this policy, “cookies” includes them. First-party cookies are set by our website. Third-party cookies are set by another company, such as Google. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.
This table lists the cookies we know our website sets for visitors. Durations are typical and can vary with your browser and settings. If we add or remove cookies, we will update it.
| Name | Provider | Type | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics (first party) | Analytics | Holds a random identifier so that Google Analytics can recognise a returning browser and count visits. It does not contain your name or email address. | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_<property id> | Google Analytics (first party) | Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit session. The name ends with the ID of our Google Analytics property. | Up to 2 years |
| inc_optin_never_see_again-popup-N | Hustle pop-up tool (first party) | Functional | Set when you dismiss a pop-up, so that it does not return. N is the pop-up number. Hustle may set similar cookies to apply its display rules. | Persistent |
| Cookies set by Google Maps | Google (third party) | Embedded content | Set by Google when the map on our Contact page loads. Google controls the names and purposes. | Set by Google |
Analytics and embedded content are non-essential. Strictly necessary cookies are those needed to run or protect the website, and they do not depend on your choice. We do not run ads, and we do not use cookies for advertising.
Where we show a consent banner, it stores your choice in your browser’s local storage (an item named cc_consent), so that we do not ask you again on every page.
Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check whether a submission comes from a person or a bot. Cloudflare may read browser and device signals, and may use cookies or browser storage, to run the check. See the Cloudflare privacy policy. The form also has a hidden “honeypot” field. It is not a cookie. People cannot see it, and a submission that fills it in is treated as spam.
Staff who sign in to the website dashboard receive WordPress login and settings cookies. Ordinary visitors do not. Our website also runs Elementor, LiteSpeed Cache and Wordfence, which can use technical cookies or browser storage to keep the site fast and secure. If a tool starts setting a cookie that affects visitors, we will add it to the table.
Google may receive your IP address, browser and device information, and your interactions when the map loads, under the Google Privacy Policy. Our links to LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X and WhatsApp take you to those services, which have their own cookies and policies.
We use Google Analytics 4 to learn how people use our website, so that we can improve it and see which pages lead to enquiries. It records page views, scrolling, clicks on links to other websites, searches on our site, file downloads, and when you tap a phone number, email address or WhatsApp link or submit the contact form. Those last events are set up to record only that the action happened, not what you type. Reports also show browser and device type, approximate location and how you reached our site.
Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Your browser still connects to Google to send the data. We have turned off Google signals (a Google feature that links activity across a person’s devices) and ad personalisation, and we do not use analytics data to show ads.
The analytics cookies last up to 2 years. We have set event data retention in Google Analytics to 14 months. After that, Google deletes user-level and event-level data automatically.
We use Google Consent Mode, a Google setting that applies your cookie choices. Your region is detected automatically: Google applies regional consent settings based on your connection, and our consent banner appears for visitors in Europe.
Where we show a consent banner, you can accept or decline analytics cookies. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the cookie settings link on our website, and we aim to make withdrawing as easy as giving consent. After you withdraw, we stop setting analytics cookies for your browser. Cookies already stored may stay in your browser until they expire or you delete them. Withdrawing does not affect processing before you withdrew.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. The steps differ by browser, so please see your browser’s help pages. If you block strictly necessary cookies, our contact form may stop working. If you block third-party content, the map may not appear. If you delete cookies, your saved choices are removed, and the banner may ask you again where it is shown.
You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. It stops Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits to any website that uses it.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, data-protection law there may apply to your personal data. Our controller details, legal bases, your rights, complaints and international transfers are in Section 12 of our Privacy Policy.
This policy is written with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its rules, and the Information Technology Act, 2000, in mind. Indian law applies (see Section 10 of our Terms of Use). To use a right or withdraw consent, email us with the subject line Privacy Request.
We may update this policy when we add, remove or change cookies or tools, or when the law changes. We will publish the revised version at this address and update the “Last updated” date. If we ever introduce advertising cookies, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
