Study Beast Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 20, 2026

Study Beast is provided by Ceres Canopus Private Limited (“Ceres Canopus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Study Beast Android application.

Study Beast is intended for people aged 13 and above. It is not directed to children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use the app.

1. Information processed on your device

Study Beast is designed so that its core study and Focus Mode data stays on your device. Depending on the features you use, the app may process and store:

  • timer and stopwatch sessions, study categories, subjects, exam or focus labels, targets, study metrics, timestamps, and pause/resume details;
  • Focus Mode preferences and user-entered distraction reasons;
  • selected or blocked app package names, app labels, notification counts, and last-seen times used to provide Focus Mode controls;
  • references to images or animations you select through Android’s document picker; and
  • audio files you choose to import, which are copied into the app’s private storage.

Study Beast currently does not require a user account and does not send this core study history, Focus Mode data, or imported media to Ceres Canopus servers.

2. Device access used by Focus Mode

Some Focus Mode and Strict Focus features are optional and require special Android access. The app explains these features before asking you to enable them. You can decline or later revoke access in Android Settings, although the related feature will then stop working.

Notification access

When you enable notification access, Study Beast can read the app that sent a notification and its title and text. The most recent allowed notification may be shown temporarily inside Focus Mode. Notification title and text are not persistently saved by Study Beast. Package-level information such as an app name, notification count, and last-seen time may be stored locally to provide notification controls.

Usage access and installed apps

When enabled, usage access lets Strict Focus detect which app is currently in the foreground. Study Beast also reads the limited list of launchable apps made available by Android so you can choose which apps are allowed or blocked. Selected package names and labels are stored locally. We do not sell or share your installed-app selections for advertising.

Display over other apps, Do Not Disturb, and audio controls

Study Beast may use display-over-other-apps access to show the Focus Mode blocker, Do Not Disturb access to reduce interruptions, and audio controls to pause or stop blocked media or temporarily adjust music volume. These controls are used only to provide the Focus Mode behavior you choose.

Accessibility Service

Strict Focus can optionally use an Android Accessibility Service to detect selected device-manufacturer sidebar or floating-panel states and to perform a Back action when needed to enforce your focus choices. The service may inspect limited visible window information such as package names, window changes, and labels relevant to those controls. This information is processed on the device and is not sent to Ceres Canopus or used for advertising. Study Beast is not an accessibility tool. Enabling this service is optional and requires a separate in-app explanation and your affirmative consent.

3. Advertising and information handled by Google

The ad-supported version of Study Beast uses Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service. When an ad is requested or shown, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect or receive information including:

  • your IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
  • interactions with the app and ads, including ad views and clicks;
  • diagnostic information related to app, SDK, and ad performance; and
  • device, advertising, or app-set identifiers, where available and permitted.

Google uses this information to provide and measure advertising, perform analytics, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect its services. Data sent by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit. Ad personalization depends on your region, consent choices, device settings, and applicable age-based restrictions. Study Beast does not send your study history, distraction reasons, imported files, notification content, installed-app selections, or Accessibility Service observations to AdMob for advertising.

You can learn more in the Google Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Where required, Study Beast will present consent and privacy choices before requesting ads. You can reopen available advertising privacy choices from the app’s Settings screen.

4. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. Core study data and Focus Mode content remain on your device and are not shared with Ceres Canopus or advertisers. Ad-related information described above is processed by Google as our advertising service provider under Google’s terms and privacy policies. We may disclose information if required by law or necessary to protect users, our rights, or the security of the service; however, Study Beast currently has no developer-operated server collecting your core app data.

Google may process information in countries other than the country where you live, subject to the safeguards described in Google’s privacy materials.

5. Retention and deletion

  • Study sessions, preferences, distraction reasons, selected-app settings, and package-level notification history remain on your device until you delete them using available app controls, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app.
  • Imported audio remains in the app’s private storage until you remove it, clear app storage, or uninstall the app.
  • Images and animations remain in the location you selected through Android. Study Beast stores only the document reference and permission needed to display them.
  • Notification title and text are used temporarily and are not persistently saved by Study Beast.
  • Android may back up and restore app data according to your device, Google account, and backup settings.
  • Google retains ad-related data according to its own policies and applicable law.

Because Study Beast currently has no user account or cloud storage for core app data, there is no server-side Study Beast account to delete. To remove locally stored data, use the app’s deletion controls, clear Study Beast storage in Android Settings, or uninstall the app.

6. Your choices

You can:

  • choose whether to enable optional notification, usage, overlay, Do Not Disturb, and Accessibility access;
  • revoke those permissions at any time in Android Settings;
  • delete study history and imported content using available app controls;
  • clear all local app data or uninstall Study Beast;
  • manage or reset your Android advertising identifier through your device settings; and
  • review or change available advertising privacy choices from Study Beast Settings.

7. Security

Study Beast stores core app data in app-private local storage and relies on Android security controls. Information sent by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and app architecture.

8. Children and teenagers

Study Beast is intended for users aged 13 and above and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through Study Beast, contact us so we can review and address the situation. Advertising for users known to be teenagers is subject to applicable age-based restrictions and Google’s protections.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Study Beast features, third-party services, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy at this URL and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app where appropriate.
